Tintsaba in the press!

We're thrilled to be featured in the newest edit of The International Journal of Green Growth Development (IJGGD).

With the issue's focus on Africa, the story of Tintsaba's Master Weavers competition is used to illustrate how heritage craft techniques can be modernised and made desirable for a global audience.

Our Master Weavers wow us all year round

If it's the first time you're hearing about our Master Weavers range, the idea is simple but quite extraordinary (if we do say so ourselves!).

Throughout the year we'll keep an eye out for exceptional baskets being produced by our most talented weavers; an exceptional basket can be incredibly impressive in design, originality, or accuracy and attention to detail.

The baskets are then are assessed by a panel of judges – experts from within Tintsaba, like Elisabet, plus esteemed guests from the regional design scene – and a Overall winner, plus a People's Choice, are chosen.

Not only does this give the weavers some healthy competition, but encourages them to continually develop their craft and be thinking of ways to move their designs forwards.

Why not check out 2017's stunning Master Weaver collection, and let us know who you think deserves this year's crown (we're keeping our lips sealed for now!).

Thanks to our friend Eugenie, from Piece, for mentioning us in the IJGGD journal. If you're interested in reading the whole article, and others about sustainable development in Africa, you can download the issue to learn more.
